CONTENTS
The contents are determined by the competencies to be developed in accordance with the general guidelines for foreign language learning in our context, based on the Common European Framework[1].

FUNCTIONAL CONTENTS

GRAMMAR

* Reporting in oral and written form about professional and current topics of general interest.


* Expressing interests and opinions about topics of general and professional interest, in oral and written form

* Summarizing events, situations, topics and/or readings developed in class.

* Using letters, e-mails and written messages in general as a resource of communication.
* Describing & narrating general settings, characters, and parts of a literary texts.

Topics. Current and professional issues
Read and write newspaper articles, editorials, interviews, blogs, guest speaker etc.

English speaking countries booklets: Canada, India, New Zealand, Kenya, Ireland, Tanzania, (technology, health, education, etc.)

Guest speaker … Teaching Assistance

Write and read books, films and documentaries reviews.
Comprehension of texts.
Product: book reviews.

Strategies: reading comprehension and oral production
Product: periodic self-evaluation about the students’ learning process.

Read and write some of the most common letter types.


Reading Projects based on:

* Review Present and Past and Future tenses

* Reported Speech (news report)

* Passive voice   // Active Voice (unit

* Use of modal verbs (unit 6)

Use of  structures after verbs, adjectives and nouns such as:

* Verbs with prepositions and particles
    Structures with:
    get, infinitives, ING forms, verb + object + infinitive,

* Quantifiers, numbers, qualifiers.

* DETERMINERS: The, much, many, few, enough, etc. (unit 3)

* Impersonal pronounns (everybody, anybody, anywhere, etc.) (unit 11)
